Unlike Meenakari (which adds coloured threads during weaving) or printed sarees, the colour in a Rangkat comes entirely from the warp arrangement. It is one of the rarest and most labour-intensive forms of Banarasi weaving, as the warp preparation alone takes 2–3 additional days. Authentic Rangkat sarees can be identified by the subtle colour transitions visible even on the reverse side of the fabric.
